Food Bank for the Heartland collects, inspects, sorts and repacks the food for distribution to over 225 nonprofit agencies across Nebraska and western Iowa.

To meet the increasing demand, we purchase food to supplement donations. In 2014, we spent $2,491,660 to buy high-demand food items. The Food Bank distributed 15.8 million pounds of food during the 2014 fiscal year - a 3.2 million pound increase from the previous year.
