BECOMING AN AGENCY
Any 501(c)(3) non-profit organization may apply for membership to The Food Bank.
IRS application
If your organization or host organization does not have 501(c)(3) status, you will need to apply for it. You may view a list of the forms that may be required here:
Tax-Exempt Organizations Tax Kit; also, the phone number for the Tax-Exempt department at the IRS is 1-877-829-5500. It is strongly advised that you obtain legal counsel to guide you through this process.
Food Bank application - Once you have your 501(c)(3) status, The Food Bank has an application packet to be completed. To request a packet, please email Vicky or call her at 402-331-1213. You will need to supply your 501(c)(3) information when you submit your packet. Upon receiving your application we will arrange for a personal inspection of your facility for approval. An initial health inspection may also be performed by your county's Health Department.
Once you've gone through this process, you will work with Vicky to get scheduled to obtain your supplies. Welcome to The Food Bank!
