Canstruction

It starts with one can.

To feed the hungry.
To lift the spirit.

To change the world.

Canstruction®, a charity committed to ending hunger, is using ‘One Can’ as a catalyst for change. The Food Bank was
the first in the country to hold a food- sculpture event, in 1987 - twenty-two years ago! Our third year of  participation in the national Canstruction® event spotlights hunger while showcasing the Omaha area’s brightest and best architects and community-leading companies.

Get creative, help stop hunger.
One Can.

Businesses and organizations are partnered with architects from Omaha’s chapter of American Institute of Architects to compete in designing and building giant sculptures made completely out of non-perishable food products. In 2007, over 21,000 pounds of canned food was donated to The Food Bank as a result of the Canstruction® competition.
