Hunger Awareness Day

June 3, 2008

Hunger Awareness Day is an opportunity to reach out to our community to expand our understanding of hunger and its effect on the community.  Right now in the Omaha metro area many working families are having trouble making ends meet and providing food to put on the table.

The Food Bank is coordinating various events across the community in observance of Hunger Awareness Day – all events occurring on Tuesday, June 3rd:

One Big Table . . . Company Potlucks – companies across the metropolitan area are hosting luncheon potlucks or brown-bagging it utilizing the theme “One Big Table – a place for everyone .  .  .”  What would have been spent to go out for lunch is donated to The Food Bank.
