stamp out hungerStamp Out Hunger - May 10th

On May 10th, Campbell Soup Company and The United States Postal Service are partnering once again to sponsor Stamp Out Hunger. Click here to learn how you can participate.

 

The event, created by the National Association of Letter Carriers in conjunction with America's Second Harvest, delivered more than 70 million pounds of food throughout the United States in 2007.

 

Playing With Fire

Playing with Fire Blues Concert Series

 

The wonderful summer concert series returns!  Playing with Fire will once again fill the summer air at Lewis & Clark Landing with lively jazz and blues music.  Grab some family and friends and come down to the Riverfront and enjoy the good food and music! 

 

The Food Bank volunteers help man the front entrances and accept a free will entrance donations. The proceeds at the front gates help keep the concert series going and a portion is donated to The Food Bank.  

 

2008 dates are:
May 17, June 14, July 19, August 16, and September 13

Hunger Awareness Day is an opportunity to reach out to our community to expand our understanding of hunger and its effect on the community.  Right now in the Omaha metro area many working families are having trouble making ends meet and providing food to put on the table.
                                                                      
The Food Bank is coordinating various events across the community in observance of Hunger Awareness Day – all events occurring on Tuesday, June 3rd. Click here to view events.

 

 

 

Bank of the West Celebrates America
Memorial Park

June 27th

 

Join us on June 27th for Bank of the West Celebrates America’s annual concert at Memorial Park.  Bank of the West is partnering with The Food Bank in an effort to combat hunger.  Those who attend Bank of the West Celebrates America are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries to donate.  Donation sites will be set up at entrances to Memorial Park along Dodge Street and Underwood Avenue, and barrels will be set up throughout the park for those who would like to donate.  Bank of the West Celebrates America bears will be sold at Memorial Park for $5 each, with all proceeds going to The Food Bank.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of food and beverages at the event will be donated to The Food Bank.
