A mobile pantry is a traveling food pantry that delivers food free of charge directly to people who need assistance for a one-day food distribution. The goal is to provide food where there is a high need but limited resources. Food Bank for the Heartland works with a nonprofit agency to schedule a mobile pantry and advertise it in the community.
In 2012, the Food Bank's Mobile Pantry program distributed 1.2 million pounds of food to 19,000 families in need in Nebraska and western Iowa.
If you are looking for food assistance, please view the list of upcoming mobile pantries
or visit our Hunger Relief Resources
information. You may also call 2-1-1 or go to United Way for the
Midlands. 2-1-1 is a United Way help-line that connects individuals with a pantry and other emergency assistance close to their homes.
If you are an agency partner or community organization wishing to host a mobile pantry, please contact the Agency Relations department at 402.331.1213.
